Old friends on a Sunday afternoon

They came from a funeral. 
We came from funeral. 
We met at Chattanooga's Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant near the Tennessee River in the downtown to share memories and to laugh.

Charlie and Sandra are our next door neighbors. Chancellor Obear and Mrs. Obear led the university for many years, before retirement. 

All are good, gentle people. The irony of our meeting is that my Frances and I had only an hour or two before arrived in Chattanooga from Athens, Georgia, and Charlotte Ford's memorial service. The Longers and Obears were returning from the funeral of local religious leader Nell Mohney.

We though it fitting to spend a few hours together sharing the joy of life, good food, good drink, memories, and most importantly, good friends.
