Early one Morning
In days of old when knights were bold and ladies just as fearless, I often cycled forth from the old castle on summer mornings as the sun rose to ride the marches of the south side of the city.
As the city and its occupants slept, I travelled on silent car free roads, never seeing another soul.
When we moved to the Dower House in the middle of a city centre park, this lady was not quite as fearless, anticipating meeting on her sortie all sorts of ruffians and vagabonds roaming abroad early in the morning, and these early morning ridings of the marches stopped.
Today with fair weather and His Lordship off to the gym at the crack of dawn, I decided to be that fearless lady again and brave the world before most of the world woke up. This blip is taken from Braid Hills Road looking over the Hermitage of Braid to the city, with Fife in the background.
