'Exceedingly Good Cakes'
Another beautiful day. We decided to visit a hardy plant centre and garden set in the Downs. Arrived there only to discover it was closed....not to worry. Save it for another day. We then headed for National Trust 'Batemans' home of Rudyard Kipling.....blipped many times in my journal.
Had coffee on the terrace then discovered there was a reading of Kipling's letters being given...under the Mulberry Tree. Dressed as Kipling the gentleman gave a wonderful performance.......lots of applause from the appreciative audience. The weather was perfect...a nice breeze taking the heat off a little...my favourite sort of day.
Later on we had afternoon tea on the terrace....'Mr.Kipling does make exceedingly good cakes'
