Binsted Strawberry Fayre, West Sussex

We had a wonderful time today there. The atmosphere was relaxed and non-pressurised. There were a few bric a brac stalls but mainly things like the National Trust stall had free badges that children could colour in a picture (Lexi chose an Owl) and then a man put it in a machine and gave it to her made into a badge, another stall had gingerbread men (and women) that the children could put icing and sweet sprinkles on (see extra), there were lucky dips, raffles, some of the smallest sheep in the world, baby chicks that the children were allowed to hold, numerous beautiful selections of plants and cakes, a lady selling elderflower presse that she had made herself. Jolly nice it was too. There were also the odd strawberry or two. Everything was sensibly priced mainly at 50p or £1.
An added bonus was our friends Zsi and Andy who own 'Owls About Town' were there displaying some of their owls. Lexi got to hold Boris (I blipped me holding Boris a while back too). He is a cross between a Night Jar and a Kookaburra. Because a group of owls are called a Parliament, they have named them all after politicians. They brought along a quite large fluffy ball of feathers (chick) that they have called Brexit !
