Tron Kirk

This church stands on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh and was built in 1647.  It was named after the weighing scales which were located nearby.  The steeple was originally made of wood but this burnt down in the 19th Century, being replaced with the stone structure now in it's place, although the original wooden hammerbeam roofing can still be seen on the inside.  The Tron is no longer in use a church but is now an indoor market and café and also a tourist information point during festival season.
