Special Things

The building, upper left, is often referred to as 'the building with that funny thing on top'. I've never spoken with the person who chose to place this atop their building, but it bears a family name that is familiar to me, and some day, I hope to ask....what is so special about this equipment that made you want to place it atop your building?

It looks like a bit of our history, something from a mill or a machine shop. By now, it's a piece of my history, because I looked at it for so many years and wondered...what is it about this equipment that meant so much to someone that they had to put it up there...
