Fantasy Castle
Today we drove to see King Ludwig II's castle. When we got there is was teeming with tourists, almost entirely Japanese. After wandering around for a bit, we decided to go and have lunch somewhere. There is a lake, between the mountains that the two castles are on (one which Ludwig lived in, the other he designed), and a paddle-boat hiring shed. We hired a boat for an hour, and paddled over to the opposite side of the lake, to have lunch. After lunch, we paddled around the lake for a bit, there were tons of blue damselflies, flying around near the bank, and we also saw some Great Crested Grebes.
We returned the boat about 5 mins late, but nobody seemed to mind, and then we walked along the path around the lake. We saw loads of big brown crickets in a small meadow near the beginning. When we got about halfway around the lake, I saw something hopping along in the damp leaflitter, I stopped to have a look, and it turned out to be a tiny baby frog!
After walking around the lake, we went to visit both the castles. They were a bit boring, and we were glad we hadn't bothered to pay to go in, but they were still worth visiting, partly for the view.
