Jarvis Lake
The Western Canadian Orienteering Championships started today, after turning up a few hours early to walk around the model map, we had lunch, then progress down the road to the main race. From the parking a big yellow school bus took us 3.5km up the road into the most technical bit of the forest. The complex contours caught me out many times during my race.
During the walk around the model map I saw a black bear! It was running fast in the opposite direction trying to get away from the nuisance orienteers. Blip is looking south across Jarvis lake, part of the model map
