Catching up!
It was a day where you know the seasons are slowly changing, the winter nip in the air has been replaced with a little warmth and a breeze. The breeze will gradually change to the gusty winds of August where towards the end I may get to see our Weeping Cherry "Snow Fountain" bloom in full for about one to two days before the winds sweep the settles away. I arranged to have a couple of beers with Trev who is a friend. Over two hours we solved the gun legislation for the world, hand picked the President of America, solved the refugee issues of the world and sent Australia back to the polls to vote in a better political party than the one we currently have. After solving most of the worlds problems I walked for about ten minutes to the river. I received a beautiful post on Facebook of the Irish countryside where in my observation the dominance of green is common to Europe, the UK and much of North America. So my blip is a shot across the Hunter River towards a small farm house which is beyond the trees. I will come back and photograph the same location in late Spring or early summer for a comparison. The second shot is of something that exists almost everywhere, graffiti. Part of my walk was to inspect the progress of work on the repair and resurfacing of and old iron bridge over the river. Lastly the photo of native Australian grasses. The winds of August will help evaporate the ground moisture, the warmth of Autumn will dry out the plants and grass and then we will be at the beginning of the bushfire season. If you look broadly at the picture the grass already looks dead, looking more closely the stems are alive as are the lower sections of the leaves. As you can see, there is a stark difference in landscape which surrounds me and the lush green most of your surroundings. Hope you are enjoying the weekend.
