Bella vita militar!

Next week, Opera Wilmington will present Mozart's "Cosi fan tutti".  This morning, Nancy King, the musical director (on right) invited the community to learn about the production and the opera.  Some of the music was presented (informally) by the leads.  The stage director and set designer brought us on stage and explained what he had done and why.  The fans (see extra) were used instead of a more complex and expensive rococo design.  In that era, fans were used by people to cover up their identity or hide, a theme of the Cosi.  The cast seems very good and we are looking forward to next week.  The costumes for the leads were beautifully crafted by the designer on set.  The chorus and soldier costumes were rented.  We visited the costume workroom and storage area.
