Bugs!

If there's one thing I don't like about gardening - apart from the heat - it's the bugs! First I had to get D to deal with a wasp nest in one of the bushes, which he did most efficiently with his Creme Brûlée blow torch! Then I tried to find out what was eating my Cannas and I saw 2 huge ugly grasshopper and this unusual one, which was well camouflaged, don't you think? I am so squeamish about them that I just left them in place. I need someone braver than me to pick them off and drown them in a bucket of soapy water. Apparently that's a solution, but I'm too scared they will fly in my face or hair!
