Tatton Flower Show

I went to the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park today. It was a glorious day and the sun shone down on the thousands who also went along. Carole and I mooched around the stalls and just enjoyed the whole day. When we sat on the grass for our picnic lunch we looked around at all the people having a lovely time. There were pretty dresses, there were people sipping a glass of Pimms, picnickers, baskets of plants, laughter..........

It made us think about some of the terrible things going on in the world. There were thousands of people who were all there to simply enjoy themselves, to buy lovely things for their gardens, to eat food, to share a drink, to laugh, to learn new skills....to share in beautiful things. Yet, elsewhere there are others who hide away plotting and scheming to destroy, their only aim to maim and kill. We just couldn't comprehend why....

Anyway, back to the day....we bought a few things as we walked our socks off. It was a great day and I am completely shattered now. 

Usually a flower pic is my last resort photo, but I quite liked some of the ones I took today. I can't remember what this flower is, but I know I'm always drawn to them, I love their shape.

I might even use the hedging shears I bought today to start on the jungle outside my back door tomorrow...............
