Morning glory

This is ipomoea.  I grew it a lot a couple of gardens ago and was reminded of it on our visit to Sri Lanka earlier this year.  The climate here is a bit different so we grow it in the greenhouse where it climbs as far as you want, twining around whatever is there.  The flowers come out first thing in the morning and often doesn't last the day.

This is the first flower this year and it is beginning to wilt which gives the petals a lovely softness.  And it is a reminder of a wonderful holiday.
