Sophie Enjoys A Good Book

We don't force her to read, honest! Actually (I'm delighted to say) she really loves books: often the first thing she does when she arrives at our house is go to where her books are kept and ask one of us to read to her or spend ages browsing through them by herself; she's beginning to build up her vocabulary and burbles away happily to herself while she 'reads'.

After a morning at the outdoor pool and lunch in the garden, she settled down for a session with some first words picture books we'd bought this morning. She was actually engrossed but her expression here was priceless.

Meanwhile, her Mum was experiencing mixed emotions on her last day as a teacher - for now; even her Head announced to the students that she was taking a break from teaching and he expected her to come back to it some day soon.
