Coal Train
Coal trains rumble through Blackheath every day. They transport ore from coal fields west of Lithgow to shipping terminals at Newcastle and Wollongong. Then they roll back up to the loading facilities for refill, turn about and roll back down again. I haven't counted the number of trains per day but I'd reckon it's something like a dozen each way. Each train is hauled by four of the most powerful electric locomotives available and the line of trucks extends to a kilometre or more.
Norma and I will be headed south for our annual vacation near Kiama in the next day or so. My postings and commenting will probably get erratic for a while. All the best to everyone. :o)).
