Life in Sunny Dubai

Graffiti ala Karama

How about this then??

I have been watching with much admiration, the graffiti works of art being posted by my blip-buddies from different parts of the world. I love how it's become so much more positive. I'd never dared to think it could ever happen here in Dubai, but believe it or not - it HAS, and right here in the district I live in! Incredible!

Karama, as some of you may know, has a shopping centre... world famous it is... since the 1980s... and now, the Owners of the block of flats have decided to really spruce it up by painting art on it - properly i.e. this is done by the government with proper tools rather than a Banksy type artist.

Whatever it is, it sure brightens up the place, and hopefully, over a period of time, I'll be able to  record all of them for posterity! So here's my first offering... To me, this is the most colourful and interesting of them. The sharp eyed among you will probably spot Dubai written in English and Arabic on the left.

It is the weekend (YAY) and the work week ended well. Our division head is in town and had a town hall style meeting to give us our half year pep talk. Had lunch with my colleague Mai; she's just bought a DSLR and wanted some tips...
