Succulent

My succulent garden is fast disappearing under weeds and grasses. It is impossible to get time to weed just now, between instructing at the school and other domestic emergencies, feeding the five thousand and ferrying people to and fro.

They seem to enjoy the neglect though, they are sending up phallic shoots, exploding into delicate fluoresence at the tips, and thrusting out new florets like crazy. Soon I shall have an area of 6 sq metres covered in them.

You will note I fail to give the latin name, this is due to lack of time, not indolence. Also I wished to ensure that some of their more extraordinary culinary uses are highlighted.

I did take some of them to the de-frocked mother superior who is acting as my medical advisor, but she coldly informed me that a) they would not reduce my blood pressure and b) they are not a substitute for a brisk walk and a lashing with birch twigs. Her method of treating my ailments seldom alters and her bedside manner is worthy of the NHS at its worst best.
