Red buoy on a grey morning
After last night's fiery sunset, the grey mist hanging over the Firth of Forth made quite a change. While the Clyde saw lightning for much of the night, it didn't darken over Newhaven till breakfast time, and by the time we were setting out to have ours in a delightful cafe, the rain was coming down in stair-rods, the thunder was rolling round the houses and the lightning raised interesting speculation about the tall crane on a nearby building site.
This photo was taken a couple of hours later, when the rain had more or less cleared and the morning, still mild, had a feeling of holding its breath. I liked the bright red of the buoy amid all these monochrome shades - though I was hard pressed to choose between it and a photo of the harbour.
