Canary-shouldered thorn
Some moths just melt my heart, and the Canary-shouldered thorn Ennomus alniaria is one of them. They have such sweet little faces and look like little teddy bears!
The moth is common throughout the UK, and flies in one generation from July to October. I don't usually see them until September so it was quite a shock this morning to find this little soul in a spiders web, fortunately the spider wasn't around and after a day in the cool of my fridge he was quite recovered and able to give me this sweet little look, and happily posed for a few shots for me - bless him :-)
