Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

GLOBETROTTER

Relieved as we are to see her flight coming into Vancouver, it is hard to feel she is so far away and a whole year before we see her again...big sigh.   It is very, very quiet around the house. Even Frazzle seems sad - but maybe that is just cos she's shut out in the rain.

The neglected veg garden is suprisingly productive.  The freezer is full to bursting with rasps and blackcurrants and we are enjoying tomatoes, potatoes, courgettes, rocket, carrots and broad beans while blaeberries, leeks, cabbage, sprouts and chard are to come.  As ever, there are some surprising no shows – the kohl rabi and lettuce were eaten by some unspecified marauder.
