TinyTuesday60 Dahlias and sunshine
Today we awoke yet again to high temperatures and a clear blue sky - wonderful! After dealing with some work of the paid variety I went to our local garden centre to find some plant to fill the gaps in our garden.
Until this last week we have had some truly dreadful weather: the frequent rain seems to have encouraged the slug and snail population who have this year eaten plants that were previously never touched: lobelia and busy lizzies being two of the victims.
Today I bought more busy lizzies, some begonias and dahlias, all for bargain prices. I rather think that the dahlias will be slug bait too but I will pot them rather than put them directly into the beds.
We have a garden thermometer which this afternoon recorded temperatures will into the 40s, although this was directly facing the sun
