What's Black and White and in the Pink?

Our annual Summer butterfly hunting trip to a special site. Unlike birds and mammals, butterflies aren't up at first light, although as it was so hot today,  we didn't have to wait to see them. We saw Skippers, Dark Green Fritillaries, Green-veined Whites (extra), Meadow Browns, a solitary Red Admiral, Gatekeepers and lots of these Marbled Whites. The orchids where plentiful, but even the Pyramidal Orchids didn't bear close inspection - as they were beginning to go over.
