Making hay

Making hay while the sun shines, and the sun certainly did shine today! It has been very hot again and I went out early to beat the heat and run a few errands. A detour into the countryside took me down through quiet lanes, past this newly mown hay meadow. 
Strictly speaking the title of the blip should be "making silage" but it doesn't have the same ring to it! I can remember as a child seeing the old fashioned haystacks, much more picturesque.
I have been idle for most of the day. We got the loungers out and put them under the trees in the shade and I got quite a bit of embroidery done. It was far too hot to do anything physical. It is only a couple of weeks since we were complaining about the cold.
