Old 'Empire'

This used to be my 'Empire', Moscow Jetty, Sydenham, Belfast, home to the Royal Navy Boat Section.
In the '70's, '80's and '90's was a throwback to bygone naval days of "work hard - play hard"
The original complex consisted of a Rigid Raiding Craft workshop and an Outboard Motor workshop, the raiders were military versions of Dell Quay Dories, the outboards mainly Johnson 140HP 'V4'.
Two MEA's, a couple of POMEM's and a crew of Stokers to maintain everything, a Supply Section and a Guardforce supplied from Moscow Camp.
Self sufficient with a tremendous work ethic and loyalty these were amongs the happiest days of my career.
It is also where I met Clare - Happy Days.
