Checking those Creels

A day of rain.  The Atlantic Ocean has ben emptied upon the County.  Albeit the rain ceased at 17.05hrs and the gentlest atmosphere is now upon the Flow.  It is so flat calm that we could hear the mannie in his creel boat on the radio to his pal at Scapa Pier.

A day that saw me have back-to-back dentist appointments; my ISP withdrew its services and I had a fraught time setting up with another service provider.  I was taken out to lunch by Anne at Lucano’s (ditto CMC).  We then went through to Stromness where the start of Shopping Week was really drookit but spirited.  We then went up to give Peggy her man’s birthday card.  For he is 90 today, alas he has just been admitted to the Balfour Hospital.

I also had a final meeting with Sheila Fleet.  I had commissioned her to make a Ruby Wedding ring for the Current Mrs Creel and I went to collect it.  In her Tankerness Workshop she has a special seat which is reserved for men who have just ‘invested’ in serious jewellery.  I made full use of the seat.  It has to be said I got the bargain of the Modern Age when I go the Current Mrs Creel.  She is a veritable gem.
