A Walk on the Wild Side
I am beginning to think my visit to the Andy Warhol exhibition in Singapore earlier this year has upset my sense of colour balance. I know this is in your face colour and the look is a bit zany, however I enjoy playing around with the drab colours of a digital image and trying to bring it to life.
With heavy rain and gale force winds, today has been a day of no real colour. I wasn't even going to bother taking my wee compact with me on my run to the beach, but was glad I had when I spotted this scene (without the colour!) A couple of deserted deck chairs sat next to the wet remains of a fire, which I guess were last used by someone from the nearby caravan site before the rain arrived yesterday. The man and boy walking on the shoreline next to the raging sea and a heavy line of frothy spume gave some interest and a sense of scale to the background.
I wanted to use this as my blip even though it lacked colour. However, when I started to play about with the colour and exposure it seemed to me to come alive in in a surreal kind of way.
Apologies to anyone who has tuned in for a traditional Kintyre seascape, but this has been a day for experimenting with an image!
