An unexpected beauty...

The Scabious in the border are stretching and reaching for the sun - the tallest I've ever seen them.

It was only when I looked at this pic in close up that I realised just how beautiful a flower it is. Those multicoloured stamens are just stunning. Complexity, order and simple beauty - that perfect combo in nature.
