Accidents

As I drove to work this morning I heard the phone in my bag 'ping' with a text message. The bag was on the seat next to me and I pulled the phone out and could see on the front screen the words ' mum had an accident last night'. I couldn't see any more and had to wait until I got to work to find out what had happened. Long story short, a colleague, whilst sleep walking at 2am had gone full steam ahead down the stairs!

She spent the night in hospital, is very bruised and battered and has a broken wrist which will be in plaster for 6 weeks.

In an instant the course of our plans can change. Whilst for me, as the team manager it has happened at the best time, the beginning of the school holidays when we get 6 weeks off anyway, it really is the wrong time for her.
