IS THIS THE END...

... of an era?

I seriously so hope not.

The "Falstaff" was one of the most beautiful examples of 1900's Art Nouveau interior decoration with fabulous bevelled cut glass mirrors & much carved mahogany.

When first I frequented  - the service was immaculate - but more recently the staff appeared to have acquired a certain Parisian disdain - a "couldn't give a stuffness" - & the place began to look a bit seedy & neglected.

I do hope they're not going to turn it into yet another bloody casino :o(
