Best of a bad bunch

Us Thursday photo folk  had a pleasant evening practising our landscape skills, unfortunately my results are disappointing to put it mildly. I did meet an interesting chap however (not one of our group) who had a nice camera/tripod ensemble and was out to 'disprove the curvature of the earth'. He explained his reasoning as I nodded politely and made a swift exit.
