Another rail photo.

On opening my door this evening I heard a strange thumping noise, after a bit of investigating I concluded that my downstairs neighbour was trapped in her bathroom and attempting to bring help by thumping on the pipes.

So I went downstairs and banged on the door. It turns out that the thumping is coming from her boiler which is 'venting', apparently a good thing, since that means it won't explode. We will have to put up with the noise though. The engineer will not be out till tomorrow...
