Life in Canada

Growing Up

The hottest day of the year...so far.  It was in the low 40's with the humidex.  Lovely breeze blowing so down to the lake I went for a walk along the water.  From a distance, I could see two adults swans in the lake and a few grey "blobs" in a row so knew there was a good chance to see cygnets!

By the time I made my way to down where they had been, they were long gone out of the lake but around a turn, there they were resting beside the pond.  I guess it was a family outing of sorts and all were tuckered out from swimming in the big lake!  There were four cygnets in total with this one being the only one not with its bill tucked into its feathers!  I love, love, love the pinkness of its bill.

I would love to see the single cygnet who was pure white. Maybe some day soon...

Stay warm...stay cool...wherever you may be!
