Broken down car

My parents set off for the Great Yorkshire Show at 10am whilst I stayed in bed and prepared for a relaxing day. 45 minutes later I received a phone call from them saying that they had broken down and wanted to know if I could come along and drive them the rest of the way. Half an hour later and I was with them, but the situation was even worse - the AA couldn't fix the car so we would have to wait for a tow truck in an hour. I therefore decided to let them take my car and I would stay with theirs, wait for the tow truck, and get the bus from the garage back home. 

After a delayed tow truck, a lot of faff with loading the car on and off, documents to sign, hazy communication between the AA and the garage, and a half a hour bus journey, I arrived back at home at 4pm! I finally managed some lunch, picked some raspberries for jam (which I was meant to do today) and got ready for the gym (until I realised I had no car...). Hopefully my parents had a better day! 

P.S. doctor confirmed I don't have Crohn's today - I'm waiting until Cambridge for more tests. 
P.P.S. Cambridge FINALLY accepted my results today so I should get formal confirmation of my PhD very soon :)
