Knight

Went into town to get a birthday present. Spotted The Knight The Rook on George Street. Made by Andy Scott, same sculptor of the Kelpies. 14ft high of calvanised steel.

This is an example of a chess piece which is going to be made by silversmiths - The Game of Kings, each piece about 10-15 inches in height and the complete board will be over 6 foot. Any further pieces made to order.

Hamilton & Inches Jewellers are celebrating their 150th Anniversary. The chess pieces are part of this celebration in partnership between the silversmiths and sculptor. The pieces will be made in the similar design format as The Kelpies, but in a smaller scale and made in sterling silver.

The Rook will be in George Street until the end of September.
