"Florida crackers"
At the Manatee Village Historical Park we read the real story about the still common term, "Florida Crackers" -so cool! The park is a National Historic Site and described as a place to explore historic buildings and travel back in time to experience pioneer life in early Southwest Florida. We found it interesting and enjoyed our visit even though we had been many years ago before we moved here -we were visiting my mom & dad..
After learning about what life was like & viewing the old schoolhouse, courthouse, boatworks, general store church & home (see extra photos), we took a break for lunch and then a brief visit to The South Florida Museum, Planetarium & Aquarium in downtown Bradenton. Lots to see & learn but we both really enjoyed. My favorite was the short Planetarium show. That night I brought my "star tracker" app outside and finally recognized a few things! It was great to break out of our normal routine and do something different together. I seem to thrive on that! Thanks Steve! xo Sweet portrait of him back one calendar day (catching up).
