More Pterodactyl action!

Today was another good day, another fern day! Another group of enthusiasts came to Arduaine, in particular Martin Rickard, author and former fern nurseryman from the English Midlands, and Judith Jones, proprietor of Fancy Fronds, a fern nursery in Gold Bar - here - Washington State, in the good old US of A.

The lady is a total hoot who only stops talking in order to have a chat, but  her knowledge of ferns is astonishing. A good time was had by all and the two of them met me later in Oban to go for a meal together, though not in this pub - this was where we met up!

Actually Coasters used to be a branch of the Bank of Scotland. If you've seen the 1959 film 'Bridal Path' you will have seen Bill Travers visit his bank manager here before popping next door to a cafe where one of the waitresses was played by Annette Crosby in her very first acting role. It's now the Chocolate Company.
