Bossa Nova

Has there ever been music that takes you more into a feel good state than bossa, so much so that it's complexity and variety of rhythms pass you by entirely. I hope maybe LoJ will come in and share a little more profoundly and insightfully what I can only 'own' re my feelings and allude to through limited picked up knowledge.

So Toquinho, a young and valued musical collaborator of Vinicius and wonderful proponent of the genre in his own right, came to town. The prices were beyond us, but we take comfort in the fact that his São Paulo flat was directly above where we stayed for three years and we often heard him play his guitar in the early hours. Sometimes we even coincided with him in the lift but never had one of his CDs to hand for autographing. That was in the days before selfies!
