Heath Spotted Orchid

Five of us were out today down in Ayrshire trying to develop a new walk for the club, taking in part of the Southern Upland Way.  It proved futile, however, and we abandoned our attempt after walking a few miles, as it did not come up to our standards for club walks. 

However, I did spot this orchid in the moor, and thought it was perfect for today's blip.

We had nice weather, sunny and about 19C.  We had a wee break at Souter Johnny's in Kirkoswald before heading home, and had some laughs and a bit of banter.

So the day was not wasted ......
