Tistedalsfossen Power Station

This is the original 1907 hydroelectric power station  at Tistadalsfoss built by the pulp and paper company at the time to revamp its operations to increase profits. The water comes from the lake Femsjøen which is 66m higher than the power station, providing 42m3/s and generating 24MW of power. You can see the water inlet pipe at the front of the building. There is another, smaller power station slightly closer to the mill.
Nowadays Noske Skog doesn't own the powerstations, it sold them in 2001 and 2002. The power is used by the paper mill, and any excess is exported to the national grid.
