Hay Making

A change from the marine world!
Saw this charming field today with the smell of summer and fresh hay.
My parents were farmers in Guernsey so I am always torn between maritime and countryside (not that much in Guernsey).
I remember hay making quite vividly from childhood but the bales which erupted from the baler were rectangular in shape rather than these enormous round ones.
These are probably easier to handle by tractor with a spike on the front.
Of course in those days summers were unbroken sunshine !!! 8-)
