Few long sessions today then a dinner with international guests. Held it in the Balmoral hotel on Princes St....always easy to wow people when the city's bathed in sunshine and the view is of the castle and Royal Mile.

Rather predictably talk was on the bizarre post apocalyptic political scene in the UK, EU futures and risks of Trump.

The hotel always has a massively showy centrepiece flower display in the lobby...variations on a generic Scottish theme!
