Parisienne potatoes?

Took dad out for lunch to Welshpool for his birthday today, and my brother and nieces met us there.  I went for the salmon which came with Parisienne potatoes.  I asked the waitress what they were, and she said that they were new potatoes.  Apparently they are, but cut into the shape of a mushroom.  

It might be a Welsh thing....
