I stayed at this beautiful pub in its cottage opposite called the Duke of York in Winkleigh, I didn't have a key as the front door and all the bedrooms were open, I had a lock on the inside.
The pub does lovely food and the staff are all very friendly.
I enjoyed a walk around the area yesterday, All Saints church dates back to the 12th century and the originator of the Jack Russell dog the Rev Jack Russell was curate here from 1830-1836.
I had a chatty driver to Exetor, a Liverpudluan named Ian who owns the local cab firm, he was good company.
A pleasant train ride and a walk in the sun from Twickenham.
Good to be home, feels like I've been away for longer.
