Garden visitor

Gardening this afternoon and disturbed this little chap rather than a butterfly (possibly large skipper). I think he is a moth of some sort - any ideas welcome.

You may also note that I gave up on the "beer traps" for the slugs (600 and counting) and I've gone with the poisonous slug pellets.
