Poacher Morris

This is the Poacher Morris side from Lincoln, one of a large number of Morris sides to perform at Ely. They dance in the Welsh Border style and take their name from the song, "The Lincolnshire Poacher."
Although I managed a few interesting shots of Morris dancing, I was very sorry not to have my camera with me an hour or two later. There was something rather poignant about the sight of the off duty Morris dancers in their full regalia and "warpaint", walking across the car park, some with their dogs, others eating ice creams and waiting for the bus. An opportunity missed.
