MV Isle of Arran Arriving at Campbeltown
16.5C starting dry then rain most of the day. Light to moderate Southerly or SSE breeze.
Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Then the rain came on. We stayed home had lunch then watched sport on telly. Well I did. Apothecary7 did some painting.
F1 ... a win for Lewis Hamilton in the Grand Prix from Silverstone.
Tennis ... a win for Andy Murray at Wimbledon.
I noticed the ferry arriving when I was upstairs this afternoon. I went downstairs, got a camera, went back upstairs, and took some pictures from one of the upstairs front windows. Just in case we didn't get out for a walk. Ferry Sunday to add to Ferry Friday !
It started to dry up later in the afternoon so we decided we would go for a walk. We drove along Kilkerran Road on the South shore of Campbeltown loch, parked at the Doirlinn car park at Kildalloig Bay and walked from there. Maeve the Deerhound came too. We walked a little over a mile past Davaar House, Kildalloig, Ballimenach, and almost to New Orleans then came back the same way along the single track road. There is a mile marker for the Kintyre Way near the car park and one where we turned round where the road leaves the coast just before New Orleans so we know how far we walked.
Since the last time we walked this road the verges have been cut but there were still lots of wild flowers to see. With the tide in not so many active birds but still plenty around. Some seals too, bobbing about in the open water.
The rain came back on through the evening so we were lucky to get out for a dry walk.
