Lichfield Cathedral

Our beautiful cathedral is not easy to capture in her full glory.  From the Close, you cannot, even with a wide angle lens, do justice to the size and balance. In the mornings, the light is from the wrong side.

But from two miles away, across the Staffordshire countryside, you can appreciate what a marvel Lichfield Cathedral really is. She's usually not included in calendars or books of "The Great British Cathedrals". I can never understand why she is forgotten in such company.

I so enjoyed a walk through the Pipe Hall Farm Woodland Trust reserve and it was fairly quiet. Just the regular dog walkers.

Maybe it had something to do with a splendid day for sport.
