Isles of Wonder

After years of waiting, tonight finally saw the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Danny Boyle's opening ceremony was completely amazing! It was unlike any opening I've seen, and was full of idiosyncrasies of British life. It was the perfect balance of spectacle and poignant subtlety. Some of the chosen musicians were a bit dubious, but the programmed music was otherwise really good. I bought some tickets to the Paralympics athletics and swimming today, and can't wait to see inside the stadiums.
