Cognac

Another very hot day, 30 degrees, and we had arranged to meet some friends at Cognac, about 40 minutes away, for lunch.
We had a lovely time on the terrace of an Italian restaurant, next to the Hennessey distillery, on the banks of the River Charente, and afterwards walked up through the old town to see some of the blues festival which was going on this weekend.
We were also invited to eat with the same friends plus our usual crowd, this evening at their house. We all sat outside as it was still so warm, until about 11pm.
