A slice of Lesley's life

Weight training

So one of my epiphanies is that I am stopping wait training (I very much hope you both see what I did there and gave an appreciative nod of the chin). Most precisely the waiting for this to all be over and for 'normal' life to resume. For now this is normal and when we have transitioned to something else that will be the new normal and it may have shades of the previous normal and indeed shades of this one and also, I imagine, many shades of its own.

That may not make perfect sense but I am hoping for all our sakes that one way in which it will manifest itself is a change of perspective here in blipland. I do believe that most people are dealing with something most of the time. Prior to this we were part of a very fortunate minority who largely weren't. It has shaken us to move camps and taken adjustments in many forms. I believe I may have mentioned the Stockdale Paradox before...it requires you to absolutely accept the reality of where you are whilst doing everything you can to work towards a better future.

Enough philosophising...so how was our normal day?

After the hours of Risk yesterday Jackson had a gentler day but did find the strength to have a long (10 solid minutes) tug of war with Albi. It is a little hard to say who is the most stubborn / determined but let's just say the boy won.

Anna has had a super busy day of loveliness following the end of term for music school last week...a lie in, shopping for two friends' birthdays, a long debate with the folks in our local coffee shop prompted by their two tips jars - pizza or pasta - culminating in the creation of ravioli pizza, a jamberry nail sticker session at a friends for us both, a dance class and, given all that, a surprising amount of gymnastics in the garden.

I started my day with a very lovely walk along the river with a friend stopping for an exquisite fig, ricotta and avocado honey on toast breakfast. And have largely accompanied Anna on all the rest so am finding myself planning an evening of reading the paper I optimistically bought 12 hours ago.

Thank you for all the lovely kind and wise comments yesterday. The blip counselling service is really first-rate. Special mention must go to SooB who astutely observed mine and Carlos' weather vane tendency...the baton may have been handed on...oops.
